Bastardo Electrico have a kick drum packed few months ahead and we’re excited! Get your calenders in order, days booked off (or excuses ready!) and come to Cork! Jamie Behan’s nights have always been about bringing new sounds to Ireland, keeping it up to date with the ever growing electronic music scene and his latest headline selections have been nothing short of on the ball.
Objekt takes to the stage tonight to lay his selections down like you’ve never heard before. His keen ear for production and not playing by the rules means you’re sure to hear a quality varied set. Playing Blue Monday by New Order at his last Cork gig was a pretty special moment and he did it with such class. It’s always admirable to see someone doing their own thing and loving it!
His mixes and productions bear influence from the thriving UK bass culture which was kicking off when he began. But that’s where it stopped. He’s always had his own style of techno bass hybrids that are pretty unlike most other artists. Don’t miss him play out tonight at Cyprus Avenue. Tickets are available at the Old Oak, get in early as limited capacity!
Next up on April 11 is another absolute fiend in the techno sphere – Blawan. His tunes have an industrial edge which has propelled his career over the last few years and his mixes, live sets, and heavy weight releases have ensured he remains as an in-demand artist for 2015. Tickets are available now.
R&S are a label close to any electronic music fans heart and it’s fantastic to see we’re getting a chance to hear artists that have releases on it. Like Blawan, Truss has also been an R&S favourite and having seen him lash it out before get ready for some full on down and durty techno. He’s a taste for the heavier, ravier side of techno, which we at Skirmish are always happy to hear. Don’t mind no middle of the road techno roite 😉 Buy your tickets for his gig on April 17th asap, they won’t last too long! More info here.
Another fantastic addition is one of our all time favourites Neil Landstrumm! We’re super excited about this as we’ve been rinsing his tunes at sessions since we first knew what a tune was. Live techno sets, old skool rave samples and off-kilter ass shaking dancefloor fun is what you should expect on April 25th. Lets give this guy a good old fashioned Irish welcome and make sure it’s one he’ll remember. Info here and check out a live set here on the Fun in the Murky archives.
Bastardo Electrico have even MORE great acts to announce very soon and at Skirmish we’ll be doing our best to get interviews, BYOB SubSessions and videos to your screen to remember it all by. We really advise to get tickets asap as these gigs are highly in demand – massive rigs, dacent tunes and unreal visuals by resident VJ Caimin, what more could we ask for? Maybe a bigger venue… but we’ll get there eventually 😉
