Townlands Carnival Party

Townlands Carnival has brought diverse music from around the globe to our back yard in Co.Cork for the last two years. In its third year the dedication to performances of all shapes and sizes has made this man-made village into a proper community. We’ve been working in the background along with Audio Jack to help curate a festival which features some of Ireland’s best alongside international acts. To celebrate in all out carnival fashion we’ve linked up with Limerick crew Output to put on an event to shake the socks off you, coming at you April 28th.

For the occasion we’re joined by the always on form P-Hocto. He’ll be bringing his unique taste in techno, electro and all things bass to Social & Co venue where his enthusiasm is entirely justified by his rigorous and admirable DJ skills.

A vinyl fanatic, Peadar separates himself from the masses by playing a killer selection of new and old tracks across the various styles of techno, electro and bass heavy music that most appeal to him. Dark and deep, weird and wonky, glitched out and sublime or simply pounding, one thing is for sure, you won’t find any filler here. There honestly is nobody else like this man on the decks. After joining us on the SubAtomic stage at Townlands Carnival last year it was only fitting that we invite him for our launch party.

Warren Knowles is another force to be reckoned with behind the decks and he’s joining us in our mission to bring Limerick a taste of the best in electronic music. His record collection sees only the creme of the crop making the cut. No stranger to anyone who’s been wearing the dance floors at techno gigs over the last 10 years he earned his stripes at the legendary Sweat nights in Sir Henry’s. His first break came when he got accepted for the Red Bull Music Academy in Dublin and got a set at in:flux‘s famous techno night in the Kitchen Nightclub. He’s also been nominated for best resident at the Irish Dance Music Awards twice! Warren has a hugely diverse taste in music and is a vinyl purist to the core. Expect House, Techno and Electro of the highest quality.

And of course you’ll get the chance to hear us Skirmish residents shake up the room on the lovely F1 soundsystem. We’ll be launching cheap list on our Facecraic event here soon, stay tuned to get involved, or if you’re not on z’book email shiv@skirmishblog.net
