Houndstooth is the newest label on the scene run by Rob Booth and the team behind Fabric. It already has 3 quality releases to its name by the likes of House Of Black Lanterns and Call Super, all of which were dark and uncompromising. Their latest output from _Unsubscribe_ is no different but then the pairing of techno legend such as Dave Clarke and new school Dutch producer Mr Jones, wasn’t going to be any other way really I suppose.

For Spek Hondje they’ve managed to lay down some beautifully dark groove laden techno. As with their earlier remixes, the record sees both aspects of their sound gel together nicely –Dave Clarke‘s trademark rolling rhythms laying the foundation for Mr Jones trademark flow. The presence of American vocalist Bear Who? also helps give it more than a nod to Chicago. The B Side features an instrumental version of the track and allows each element to shine on their own but you gotta love that vocal. Digital bonus track Baspella takes a slower form but is none the less dark with grinding white noise and bass stabs at the fore front. A seriously great E.P. by the pair that is hopefully a precursor to a longer release.
