A little late to the party on this, but loving the latest Ariadne’s Labyrinth EP that came out back in December of last yea (2021).
Since interviewing Sharon Subbarao, aka Ariadne’s Labyrinth, back in 2017 she’s gone from strength to strength and her latest release shows her growth as a musician and producer – a unique blend of live instrumentation, classical roots, melodic wonder and rave-inspired insanity.
Influenced as much by Warp & Aphex Twin’s Rephlex imprint as it is by the Nonclassical label and Phillip Glass, the pieces exhibit a freedom of expression and fascination for emotive composition that has evolved out of Ariadne’s Labyrinth’s commitment to innovating via experimenting with hybrids – strings and machines, aggression and beauty.
Having been previously supported by the legendary likes of Plaid and Detroit Underground, Ariadne’s Labyrinth’s production, namely this EP, has now been supported by Arts Council England, using public funding from the National Lottery.
