It’s a very happy Christmas for us at Skirmish as we are delighted to announce that we are bringing the mighty Ben Pest to Cork on January 29th for a full hardware techno assault.

For those who don’t know, Ben Pest has established notoriety as an exponent of jacking noise with his live hardware-based ‘wonky-techno’ shows at such festivals and clubs as Bloc, Bangface, Glade, Boomtown and Berghain.

He is also a member of funked-up genre-bending band Pest who’ve released 2 acclaimed albums on Ninjatune and toured extensively as a headline act across the UK and Europe, as well as supporting artists including Nitin Sawhney, DJ Food, Soweto Kinch and Roni Size to name a few.

A successful DJ, writer and producer, he has numerous releases through labels including Bonusround, Victim, Seed, Sleep Debt and Panic Bridge.

His live shows are where he really comes into his own, complete with a full hardware setup which he will be bringing to Cork. Kit for his productions & live shows include: Korg ESX1, Yamaha DX200, Elektron Monomachine, Nord 1 Rack, Nintendo DS and a TR909 to name a few.

The night is also Kenny Skirmish’s birthday so double celebrations are afoot. It’s definitely not to be missed lest FOMO set in.
