Voidloss has been pushing his sound further and further. Known as much for his polished production as his devastating beats, he’s consistently done his own thing.
With that being said, it’s always very welcome when he brings something new out and his latest offering Fallen Too Far. Released on his own Singularity label, it’s got all the staples of the Voidloss sound- punishing, industrial and dark.
While track names like A Field of Lavendar to Lose Hope, A Cure For Pain and When A Soul Destroys All Paths To Love make it sound like a record from a young Mid-Western EMO band, the sound is anything but. With dense and distorted rhythms scattered throughout, it’s like the EMO antithesis . A particular highlight is the stomping He Crawls Inside My Mind, a rigid structure lurking behind some very off kilter synthesis. Nice and heavy!!
The rest of the record follows this groove and hammers the point home pretty well. If you’re a fan of dark industrial sounds, this will be right up your street.
Fallen Too Far is out now on Singularity Records.
